Thinking About Renting a Bouncy Castle? Here's What You Should Know
Bouncy castles have been a staple of kids’ birthday parties for a long time, and there’s a reason they keep showing up. Kids bounce for hours. Parents get a break. Everyone goes home tired and happy.
If you’re planning a backyard birthday party in Lloydminster and thinking about adding a bouncy castle rental, here’s a straightforward breakdown of what the process actually looks like.
Who It's Designed For
The bouncy castle is recommended for children under 12. It’s built for that age group — younger kids can bounce safely with proper adult supervision, and children up to about 12 get the most out of it. Older teenagers and adults aren’t really the target here, and mixing significantly different age and size groups in the same session isn’t something we’d recommend.
This is a residential rental. It’s not something we deploy to festivals, fairs, school events, or community gatherings. The setup is designed for a private backyard, which keeps the experience controlled and lets the kids actually enjoy it without the chaos that comes with large public events.

What You Need in Your Yard
The castle needs a flat surface with enough space to accommodate it safely. Grass is the preferred setup surface it handles the stakes and anchoring much better than concrete or pavement, and it’s a softer landing if anyone tumbles near the edges.
You’ll also need access to a standard 110V electrical outlet nearby. The blower that keeps the castle inflated runs continuously throughout the rental, so it needs to stay plugged in. If your yard doesn’t have an accessible outdoor outlet, a generator rental is an option.
Make sure there’s enough clearance around the castle not just the footprint of the inflatable itself, but a buffer around the sides and back. We’ll go over all of that when we set it up.
Delivery, Setup, and Takedown
We handle the whole thing. We arrive ahead of your rental window, get the castle inflated and anchored, and confirm everything is good to go before guests start using it. When your time’s up, we come back, deflate it, and take it away.
You don’t need to do anything on the equipment side. The main job for the homeowner is making sure kids are supervised while they’re in it, which is true of any inflatable rental regardless of who provides it.
How Long Should You Rent For
The standard options are 2 hours, 4 hours, a full day (10 hours), or a weekend rental. For a backyard birthday party, 4 hours is usually enough for most groups — it covers the party window and gives kids plenty of time without running so long that parents are trying to peel kids off of it at 9pm.
Full-day rentals make sense if you’ve got a longer event or want it available throughout an all-day celebration. Weekend rentals are there if you’ve got something spanning two days.
Supervision
An optional inflatable attendant is available for rent by the hour if you want someone on-site whose only job is watching the castle. For smaller parties where there are already plenty of adults present, it’s not always necessary. For larger groups or situations where parents want to focus on other parts of the party, it’s worth considering.
What About Older Kids and Adults?
If you’ve got a mixed-age group at your party younger kids on the castle and older kids or adults who want something to do that’s a situation we can actually help with through some of our other offerings.
Our Foam Party & Inflatable Pit tends to pull in a wider age range, and the Splatter Tent works well for teens and adults who want something more hands-on. Both are residential rentals that can run at the same time as a bouncy castle if you’ve got the space and the group for it.
And if older guests want their own thing, the indoor Smash Room and Splatter Room at our Lloydminster location are available to book separately date nights, group outings, birthday parties for older ages. That’s a completely different experience from a backyard rental, but it’s worth knowing it exists when you’re trying to plan something that works for everyone showing up.
